The latest results are in, and with only 26,000 provisional and absentee ballots left to be counted, narrow leads are becoming more and more solidified:
52nd Congressional District: Scott Peters vs. Lori Saldaña
As of 5pm, June 11th, the San Diego County Registrar of voters has the count as follows:
Brian Bilbray: 59,251 votes, 41.17%
Scott Peters: 32,632 votes, 22.68%
Lori Saldaña: 31,837 votes, 22.12%
Peters’ lead shrinks from 954 votes on Friday to 795 votes. This race is far from over.
Superior Court Office 34: Garland Peed vs. Gary Kreep
Garland Peed: 193,486 votes, 50.08%
Gary Kreep: 192,885 votes, 49.92%
This race, too, has tightened considerably. Peed held a 1,093 vote lead as of Friday. That figure has shrunk to 601 votes. This is the race between the longtime prosecutor, Peed, and the birther attorney Kreep. A black eye for all of San Diego County should Kreep creep back into the lead.
Mayor of San Diego: Bob Filner vs. Carl DeMaio
Carl DeMaio: 71,805 votes, 31.70%
Bob Filner: 68,475 votes, 30.23%
Yet another race that has tightened as the last ballots are counted. Bob Filner has closed the gap ever so slightly from 3,596 votes to 3,330 votes.
More on Bob Filner’s campaign tomorrow.
