Kristallnacht

It’s Kristallnacht
whenever anger picks up a stone
and throws it
through a neighbor’s window
shattering glass
into blades
sparks slashed from rocks
adding fire to eternal flame

Whenever an Israeli settler
builds a house
on land stripped from Gaza
Zionism becomes Lebensraum

Yesterday’s Synagogue
is today’s Mosque
leveled by Sunni shock troops
using the latest wonder-weapons made in Amerika

Home on the front
most folks are blindfolded
by propaganda ministers
in marketing departments

As long as average Joe
believes smoke is flame
he will line up in uniform formations
throwing oil onto a house fire
while the world burns

Take the money
out of the political mouthpiece
before it incinerates
one more child

There is no master race
no chosen few
just religious masturbation
and MasterCard

The real wall
isn’t in Berlin
it’s around Wall Street
how long will you kiss its ash
when capitalism
is mass murder

Let it be known that Frank Gormlie, Patty Jones, Doug Porter, Annie Lane, Brent Beltrán, Anna Daniels, and Rich Kacmar did something necessary and beautiful together for 6 1/2 years. Together, we advanced the cause of journalism by advancing the cause of justice. It has been a helluva ride. "Sometimes a great notion..." (Click here for more details)
