RESISTANCE
The sun rose
without an executive order
Unvetted clouds immigrated
Crows bullied each other
over the tallest lampposts
in vacant parking lots
Trees
peacefully plotted
resistance
underneath asphalt
Heliotropic succulents
refused to believe
the white lies of darkness
leaves
turned away
from grotesquely inflated shadows
