Birther lawyer Gary Kreep has crept back into the lead over prosecutor Garland Peed.  According to the latest Registrar of Voters update, with almost 400,000 total votes cast, and 13,500 provisional or absentee ballots still to be counted, Kreep has taken a 216 vote lead:

Gary Kreep: 197,376 votes, 50.03%
Garland Peed: 197,160 votes, 49.97%

According to an interview he gave to KPBS two days ago, Kreep still insists that Barack Obama has not provided any real proof that he was, in fact, born in the United States and not Kenya.  This despite the Hawaiian government’s insistence that he was indeed born there, despite the two birth announcements published in local Honolulu newspapers, and despite the fact that the Obama Administration has released both his “Certificate of Live Birth” and his official long form birth certificate.

In the 52nd Congressional District:

Scott Peters has extended his ever so slim lead over fellow Democrat Lori Saldaña to 737 votes in the race to determine who will face off with incumbent Republican Brian Bilbray:

Scott Peters: 33,578 votes, 22.62%
Lori Saldaña: 32,841 votes, 22.12%

Not surprising. When you have racist people voting in racist judges. We all know that that San Diego is full of ‘conservatives’, i.e. racists, so it makes sense. Sad, but makes sense. Good luck.

Let it be known that Frank Gormlie, Patty Jones, Doug Porter, Annie Lane, Brent Beltrán, Anna Daniels, and Rich Kacmar did something necessary and beautiful together for 6 1/2 years. Together, we advanced the cause of journalism by advancing the cause of justice. It has been a helluva ride. "Sometimes a great notion..." (Click here for more details)
