San Onofre nuke plant

The UT-San Diego has a poll for its readers going right now on whether you think the San Onofre Nuclear Power Plant should be shut down.

Yesterday, May 1,  “Yes” was winning but as of today, it has swung the other way.

C’mon San Diegans. Vote to shut it down.  We have the link right here so you can vote.

A lawyer and grassroots activist, I was finally convinced by Patty Jones to start the OB Rag, a blog of citizen journalists, after she got tired of listening to my rants about the news. Way back during the Dinosaurs in 1970, I founded the original Ocean Beach People’s Rag - OB’s famous underground newspaper -, and then later during the early Eighties, published The Whole Damn Pie Shop, a progressive alternative to the Reader.

I have tried every which way to vote in this poll, from going to link in your article, to going to links in emails I have received, to going directly to the U-T online and finding poll. It will not let me vote YES for closure. I think it is rigged because now the no votes are winning and people who want to vote yes are not being counted. I think Sempra Energy has a direct line to this poll and can vote no however many times they want and, we, the people, can’t register one piddly vote for closure!

      Hey Shelley,

I just tried it and it worked for me. It does seem interesting the results changed so quickly from one side to the other…

Let it be known that Frank Gormlie, Patty Jones, Doug Porter, Annie Lane, Brent Beltrán, Anna Daniels, and Rich Kacmar did something necessary and beautiful together for 6 1/2 years. Together, we advanced the cause of journalism by advancing the cause of justice. It has been a helluva ride. "Sometimes a great notion..." (Click here for more details)
