This morning two bicycles and a children’s bicycle trailer were stolen from my house in North Park (near 30th Street & University Avenue). The items were stolen between 9:30 AM and 11:15 AM on Monday, March 13, 2013.
Below are detailed descriptions of the bicycles and trailer – if you could share and keep an eye out for these item it would be greatly appreciated. If you have any information please contact me at 619-727-7867.
Honestly, who steals a children’s bicycle trailer (complete with children’s books)?
Thank you!
Men’s bicycle 2012 Men’s Giant Escape – Silver and Black, white Primo pedals and front and rear lights (alan wrench attached) added post-purchase. Has rear rack for attaching children’s seat to rear post (including a yellow cartridge with red reflector that fits below the rack for attaching). Left side of back spoke wheel has been well-worn since bicycle is often used to tow a children’s bicycle trailer (details below). Also has a Kryptonite lock attached to seat post. BikeSD sticker on front of bicycle just below handlebars.
Women’s bicycle 2012 Women’s Giant Cypress ST – Silver and Black. Kryptonite lock attached to seat post
Children’s bicycle trailer – Burley d’Lite bicycle trailer – approximately 9 years old (bought used). Has a Master lock on the front left side holding together spot where button broke. Fits Also had 3 children’s books and a rain flap in the trailer. Additionally has a steel Kryptonite cable in the trailer. Color is royal blue and yellow.
Events like this challenge our understanding.
All I can say is what others have, to me, when I’ve been robbed.
There are a lot of poor people out there. That can’t make up
for the losses, but nothing can make up for the loss of under-
standing.
All the other stuff is true, too. The creeps who took all those
beautiful machines will pay, even if they’re too whacked to know
when the payback hits them. The creeps sometimes think they
have a right to steal simply because they’ve had lousy lives; they’re
one step from losing their lives.
And it doesn’t mean we can’t ask the question: what kind of creep
steals a children’s bike trailer? Because every creep is different,
and every creep will have a reason.
Good people feel outrage at this shit, and go on to do something
good.
What kind of people steal? SCUMBAGS!! I just had some idiot come into my yard a week ago and steal a bird feeder and a plant in a clay pot. Just because something is in another person’s yard is not an invitation to take it.
