Come out and meet the Editors and Contributors, the people who edit, manage and write for the only all Volunteer-Run Progressive Daily Publication in San Diego.
We’ll have the grills and coals and some of the goods, but please come on out – bring something to grill or other food, bring a chair – join us for good vibes, a Raffle and croquet!
From noon to 4pm.
Take Route 94/MLK Freeway to 25th Street, go North to the end of 25th Street – there’s a park! We’ll be in the best location, on the west end.
Hey, if any you readers has any pull with the SDPD could you ask them for prints or files from the surveillance photo shoot at Golden Hill Park this afternoon?
Perhaps they were just sitting there in the Patrol car taking pictures of the City’s skyline in the background of our picnic. Hope the smoke from the grills didn’t ruin any of their shots.
Or perhaps they wanted to share the moments with the Mayor, who I think we neglected to invite (Sorry Bob).
Or maybe they were hoping we’d invite them in for a burger or one of the icy cold sodas we were drinking. (we would have gladly shared if asked)
I hope they caught the better side of my profile. I have a hard time getting good pictures since the cancer surgery left my face all lumpy last year.
It certainly brought back memories of the old SDPD “Red Squad” from 40 years ago. I’m sure that couldn’t be what was happening, right?
I look forward to reading all about it in the U/T tomorrow.
On the way into the park, I stopped by one of the po-lice cars and asked for directions and then noticed the other cruiser across the way. I asked why there were two of them. The officer (who WAS eating a sandwich, Doug) said because it was a nice place to have lunch under the shade trees. I agreed and wished him a nice day.
I’m gonna tell ’em everything I know.
