Perhaps I’m alone in this, but I’ve always considered men in positions of power (government, church, business etc.) who try to control and defiine other’s sexual behavior, based on their idea of “normal,” as bullies and worse. So I don’t consider his behavior hypocritical at all. It’s part of a pattern.
If anything, it’s consistent with a range of abusive behavior he and his colleagues have exhibited along a certain spectrum, going from abstract/legislative/authoritarian to personal/physical/sexual abuse.
