ILLUMINATION
Imagine
landing sick in a country
where pharmacists
refer to themselves as chemists
measure medications
with their own hands
call customers by name
Imagine
a medical professional
asking you
to stop in for a cup of coffee
when you feel better
just to chat and get to know each other
as friends
Imagine
the affluence of a poor country
where less is larger than more
Imagine
and you have glimpsed
the Eastern Mediterranean’s
unfiltered sea of illumination
