Chunky, Thank you so much for the many things you did for our community. Every time I hear Pickett sign I will think of you and the many picket lines you led us with that song. My favorite Chunky story. Many many years ago three of us spoke at a conference in Santa Barbara, For whatever reason we all went on separate planes. I got stuck on a little puddle jumper with six seats between Los Angeles and Santa Barbara. They spent hours laughing at me. KARMA On the way home: All three of us got stuck on the puddle jumper. Chunky was scared silly. I took the opportunity to get even. I kept telling him look at the panel if any lights go out we start praying. At that moment he pulls out a bottle of whiskey and grabs my hand. He was sweating bullets and I was enjoying it to no end. I can still see the him sweating and drinking. RIP

Rest in peace chunky. Thank you very much for all your music and all of your inspirations through the years. I will always remember with great pride the special friendship we had for over 35 years. So many events we shared and community gatherings we were part of and you always consistent with your great music and love. Always bringing smiles to everyone. You were there in our struggles and voiced our heartfelt feelings with your music. I will always play your music and share it. My condolences to the family. I’m so sad right now because a great one has left us to join all our love ones that have left.
