With the Electoral College vote on December 19th confirming Donald Trump as the next president, it is now official that the United States of America is in distress.
We are calling on our readers and supporters to d0 something every day to signify this distress.
And one of these things can be as small as placing your American flag stamps upside down every time you mail something.
The upside down American flag is a time-honored tradition of demonstrating in a small way that the country is in trouble, in distress.
We carry over this tradition to our flag stamps. Please place them upside down on every envelope or package you mail.
This practice of placing stamps that signify our flag upside down was used during the Vietnam War by many conscientious Americans as a way of displaying opposition to the illegal and immoral war.
We can carry on this tradition as we enter this dark period of our history.
I do send the flag stamp upside down to some people. It is too upsetting for others.
I always placed the flag upside down. This country, and especially minorities here, has always been in distress.
I don’t like anything to do with the flag. My stamps are always flowers, animals or jazz singers.
I will have to think about this. I fully support it, but not sure I want to purchase flag stamps.
american flag upside-down is accepted emergency distress signal. other stamps upside-down used to signify a kiss. don’t know if that’s still true.
Is it illegal to fly the US flag upside down on a flag pole?
I would like to do this, but wonder if there is a legal ramifications.
