By San Diego Indivisible

At 4:30 PM today, Thursday May 11, voters in California will be demonstrating outside of the Hotel Del Coronado in protest of the Republican National Committee 2017 Spring Meeting.

The event is being organized by San Diego Indivisible in response to current events including: demanding a special prosecutor to investigate between Trump’s administration and Russia, saving the Affordable Care Act, preserving funding for Planned Parenthood, the protection of civil rights, and building a sustainable future by addressing climate change.

The only way San Diego Indivisible believes those issues will be appropriately tackled is if we Flip Congress by voting out the GOP majority in 2018. Hundreds of voters are expected to come out from all the surrounding districts to spell out “2018” on the beach near the hotel for an aerial drone photo and a strong message to elected officials.

Participants will be meeting at the beach steps on the South side of the 1500 block of Orange Ave and then move to the beach side of the hotel to spell out “2018”.

There will be a focus of the protest on Rep. Darrell Issa in response to his vote on healthcare last week where he failed to represent and protect his constituents. Now they have a message for him: Repeal and Replace Issa! CNN will be filming the event to capture the grassroots activism on the ground here in CA-49 to hold Darrell Issa accountable to his constituents.

WHAT:  Flip Congress 2018 – Protest of the 2017 RNC Spring Meeting
