If you already have DACA status and it expires between September 5, 2017, and March 5, 2018, you MUST apply to renew your status BEFORE October 5, 2017, in order to protect yourself from deportation.
Alliance San Diego is sponsoring DACA workshops this month to assist with the application process.
There are two upcoming events that they are hosting:
- Friday, September 22nd at Church of the Resurrection located at 1445 Conway Dr. Escondido, CA 92027. For an appointment please call 619-363-3423 or e-mail info@readynowsandiego.org.
- Saturday, September 30th at Copley-Price Family YMCA located at 4300 El Cajon Blvd. San Diego, CA 92105. For an appointment please call 619-363-3423 or e-mail info@readynowsandiego.org.
Please note that those who go through the renewal process with Alliance San Diego will also receive the renewal fee, free of charge!
You may also renew online. That means you must mail your application by October 1, 2017.
One more thing! The DACA renewal costs $495. That is a lot of money. You can donate to AllianceSD DACA Renewal Fund to help defray those costs for these young people who are our friends, neighbors and family members.
FYI: There is a FREE DACA renewal, information and technical assistance workshop scheduled at Jewish Family Service of San Diego off Balboa at 8788 Balboa Avenue, San Diego CA 92123 on Wednesday, September 27th.
Attendees may receive assistance from immigration attorneys & DOJ accredited representatives to include: FREE Eligibility Screening, Application Assistance, and Review & Mailing.
Also: San Diego’s Immigration Legal Resource Center (ILRC) has streamlined their enrollment process with Mission Asset Fund’s scholarships now available for DACA renewals. Mission Asset Fund (MAF) is now providing scholarships for DACA renewals through October 5th across the country.
Anyone interested should apply through http://www.LC4DACA.org.
If you have questions, please email programs@missionassetfund.org.
MAF allows ILRC to issue a check for $495 made out to the Department of Homeland Security within 24-48 hours after a DACA applicant submits an application online. ILRC mails the check to renew DACA to the participant via USPS priority or express mail so that they can include it with their renewal application as soon as possible.
Please share with DACA students, their families, and as appropriate.
