The Good News: The man who chanted “Lock Her Up” obsessively at rallies for Donald Trump is now officially charged with a federal crime.
ABC News Special Report: Michael Flynn promised “full cooperation to the Mueller team” and is prepared to testify that as a candidate, Donald Trump “directed him to make contact with the Russians.”
Via The Daily Beast,:
“At 10:22 a.m. ET on Friday, Flynn, wearing a gray suit, exited a black suburban and walked silently through a gauntlet of cameras into a Washington, D.C., courthouse as reporters shouted questions. A man—standing behind a group of reporters next to a woman in a pink knit hat with cat ears—shouted, “Hold on, Putin loves you!” in Russian at the disgraced former National Security Advisor. Flynn’s heckler, who declined to give his name, wore a cat-ear hat.
An hour or so later, Flynn put out a statement on the plea deal, saying, “I recognize that the actions I acknowledged in court today were wrong, and, through my faith in God, I am working to set things right.” Flynn said he made his “’agreement to cooperate” with Mueller’s investigation “in the best interests of my family and our country. I accept full responsibility for my actions.”
After more than an hour inside the courthouse, Flynn exited as silent and as quickly as he entered. But the small crowd that had gathered outside jeered at him, screaming “traitor!” and “lock him up” as his SUV pulled away.”
The Bad News: It appears the US Senate will pass some sort of budget. It still has to be reconciled with the House version of the bill, which is not a given because of the deficit hawks in the Freedom Caucus. Think about this: Republicans were ready to approve a tax bill that will affect our society for generations to be signed by an illegitimate President likely steps away from an indictment.
So, here is the News this morning. The Leader of the Free World is now completely unhinged, but we can’t do anything at all about it because he has rock solid support from racists, and all the very rich Republicans who badly need another tax cut
And now, the weather…

Three upcoming events you need to to be sure to notice: Save Affordable Housing – Planning Commision Meeting (December 7), Net Neutrality Protests at Verizon Stores (December 7), and Human Rights Day of Action (December 10)
Check out this week’s Progressive Calendar listings below. Following those listings are upcoming events of national importance, along with opportunities for organizational involvement.
Get your event listed: I try to list the next 10 days or so of mostly non-commercial events I think our readers might find of interest. I source my material from social media listings and press releases. Club meetings will be listed IF there are speakers and they are open to the public.
Democratic Candidates: I will list all non-fundraising events open to the general public. A listing does not imply endorsement. Events that are listed on Facebook as ‘private’ or sold-out are not listed. In cases where there are competing but similar events or campaigns of the progressive persuasion, I do my best to list everything.

Planning Commission Meeting – Save Affordable Housing
Thursday, December 7, 8am
San Diego City Hall
202 C Street
For More Information
Hosted by AAPI Progressive Alliance – San Diego
About 900 Rancho Penasquitos residents will lose their homes as 332 units are replaced by expensive townhomes and luxury apartments. San Diego County has been experiencing a crisis of homelessness and affordable housing since 2013. This is the worst time to lose affordable homes in our neighborhood. We believe our City Council and Community Planning Boards require an increase of affordable housing development – not a decrease
On Thursday, December 7th, 9:00am at the City Council Chambers in Downtown, the Planning Commission Meeting will join together to decide whether or not to approve the development of PQ village. As the development has NOT been approved, we still have a fighting chance to take action by letting our voices be heard AGAINST the development over our fellow community members.
There will be a press conference at 8:00am, so please account for traffic and remember to arrive early. The meeting will take place in the City Council Chambers on the 12th floor. Please try to carpool, as there is a fee to pay for parking. “If” the development is indeed approved, it will go to the city council for their approval.
National Protest to Save Net Neutrality
Thursday, December 7, 4pm
Verizon Store
3505 Sports Arena Boulevard
For More Information
The internet as we know it is in jeopardy. On December 14th, the FCC will be voting to eliminate net neutrality. This will allow internet service providers to restrict your access to the internet. Browsing speeds for websites that aren’t supported by your cable company will be reduced. You’ll be required to pay additional fees for websites that aren’t preselected for high-speed access. It’s entirely possible the ISPs can make it free to access Fox News, Breitbart, and Infowars, but place an additional cost for visiting CNN or BBC.com. This motion will also allow ISPs to increasingly monetize the high-speed services that have become a standard in our lives
Help keep the internet free. We will be joining a national protest that begins on December 7th. People from across the country will be protesting at Verizon stores in order to demand concessions from the FCC. We need to converge against this injustice with our collective willpower. Let’s all do what we must to make the necessary difference together

Human Rights Day of Action 2017
Sunday, December 10, 3:30pm
San Diego County Administration Center
1600 Pacific Highway
For More Information
On Sunday, December 10, International Human Rights Day, the Partnership for the Advancement of New Americans, UNA-USA San Diego, Climate Action Campaign, CAIR San Diego, the ACLU of San Diego and Imperial Counties, Islamic Center of San Diego, Muslim American Society-San Diego, SDIRC, Unite Here Local 30, United Domestic Workers, IWJ San Diego County and countless others are calling for a large scale rally to demonstrate our commitment to fighting for the ideals that those before us inspired: fairness, equity, dignity, humanity, and welcome for all.
San Diego County is a multi-national , multicultural region with vibrant immigrant and refugee populations. With the erosion of public trust in government and increasingly uncivil public discourse, we call on local lawmakers to stand up for all San Diegans and to ensure the region’s newcomer, immigrant, and Muslim families are safe, valued and included members of our shared community. So that every San Diegan may feel safe, valued and included, our region must address the key sustainability issues of access to housing, transparent democracy, and constitutional rights to privacy and free practice of religion.
On December 10th, as we observe International Human Rights Day of Action, we will gather as a chorus of voices standing up against hateful rhetoric and discriminatory legislation. We call on our public elected representatives—and on each other—to take responsible action to welcome and protect the rights of our newcomer and immigrant families.
