Vox’s Danush Parvaneh ruminates on the question of whether a president has the ability to self-pardon. Note that one of the checks discussed is the judicial system, ultimately the Supreme Court. How about that as another reason for demanding no nominations until the Mueller investigation is concluded.

this issue of self-pardoning is one of the reasons our founders made the top office a president instead of a king.
NO, the president CANNOT pardon himself. YES, the supreme court should have the final say in such a situation. and YES, *45 has a tremendous conflict of interest in the matter.
as this idea of no new justice until after the investigation is complete gains momentum EVERY left-leaning person — especially our elected reps — MUST say it at every opportunity.
