On Nov. 6, we’ll be voting in the first major election since Donald Trump was elected president. Trump is not on the ballot, but the future he envisions for the country is, and the stakes are incredibly high.
The nationally high profile contests locally are Congressional Districts 49 and 50. If you don’t happen to live in those districts, there are still candidates and causes worthy of your support.
Many candidates are looking for help in the next few days with encouraging people to vote. I gathered more than 50 such opportunities. They make up the bulk of this week’s calendar.

- Use your social media to post voting reminders
- Send an email encouraging your contacts to vote.

The San Diego Free Press General Election Progressive Voter Guide: Websites, social media links plus more than three dozen candidate endorsements, along with yea or nay on 23 state, county, and city propositions.
The November 2018 Cheat Sheet and Progressive Voter Kit has a little bit of everything, from our endorsements in a printable format, other voter guide info, and answers to questions about the process of voting.
Also, for those of you with burning questions about the judges on your ballots: An Explainer on Electing Judges in California, including suggestions.

Get your event listed in the SDFP Progressive Activist Calendar: I try to list the next 10 days or so of mostly non-commercial events I think our readers might find of interest. I source my material from social media listings and press releases. Club meetings will be listed IF there are speakers and they are open to the public.
Democratic Candidates: I will list all non-fundraising events open to the general public. A listing does not imply endorsement. Events that are listed on Facebook as ‘private’ or sold-out are not listed. In cases where there are competing but similar events or campaigns of the progressive persuasion, I do my best to list everything.
I’m presenting this week’s calendar differently because there are so many election-related events. Nearly all the event have links embedded in them for more information.
