when you have a warRegarding the proposed expansion of the military–

Good thinking!

By all means we must ramp it up, for the following rational reasons, in no particular order:

The weapons manufacturers are in dire need of further enrichment,

and Congress needs the various kinds of kickbacks available in order to avoid being poverty-stricken;

We have yet to complete the number of countries that must be invaded and/or host our military bases;

We have not sufficiently funded the military budget considering that we are only on the hook for 51% of annual expenditures,

and plenty is left over if only we divest of pesky social programs;

We have not yet killed enough innocents and disrupted enough societies and cultures around the planet to satisfy our lust for domination;

We have not lost enough, or damaged enough of our servicemen and women who continue to sacrifice for the wrong reasons;

There are, of course, many other reasons, but I believe most sensible Americans get the point.
