Talking To Myself

I won’t stop talking to myself
while: Money has the last
word
torture is up for debate

I’ll keep shooting propaganda
with poetry
until people kill guns
and Israeli trained law enforcement
is policed
by citizen’s served

I’ll spray the paint off
corporate profits
until there’s no big shot business
to mow down
schools

I’m talking to my
self
out loud      out of

line

out      side
struck
out

Ishmael von Heidrick-Barnes

Ishmael von Heidrick-Barnes was born and raised in San Diego, California. He attended Herbert Hoover High School and went on to study Religion and Theology at the University of San Diego. His book Intimate Geography, published by Ragged Sky Press, won the 2012 San Diego Book Award for Poetry. Ish, as he is known, has also written lyrics for German musicians Andrea Hörkens and Thomas Roderburg (Tender Art).
