I was rereading “The Michael Moore Easy-to-Follow 10-Point Plan to Stop Trump” and was reminded that point number 10 is: “JOIN THE ARMY OF COMEDY: Trump’s Achilles heel is his massively thin skin.” So, in the furtherance of carrying out what I believe to be a patriotic duty, here’s a recent Funny or Die video that pokes a little fun at our Tweet-obsessed leader’s somewhat idiosyncratic lexicon. (h/t Doug P.)

We at San Diego Free Press love watching all kinds of video. Those short visual stories entertain, inform, and agitate in a way completely different from the written word.

Since our platform is about expressing ideas and ideals instead of cash flow, clicks, or fundraising, we have the freedom to include a wide range of topics and formats that might not work elsewhere. We don’t need or want paid content, promotional materials, or story lines designed to please donors.

So the idea here is to present videos one or more of the editors feel speaks to them. Sometimes it will be news. Sometimes it will be history. And a lot of the time it will be culture. You can not and should not separate these things: it is diversity and intersectionality that makes our movement strong.

Hah! Busted! Yep, I wrote the brief intro for this pick, but not the recurring text and this video was suggested by another editor, so it’s really a team effort. So even though it might appear to be the work of one person, and typically I’m the one that clicks the “Publish” button, I don’t feel justified in taking sole credit (blame?) for each post. And “staff” can be singular as well as plural, so it works in both cases.
Plus, I think there’s a part of me that wants to create a sense of mystery … Guess that’s not going to happen for this one. ;-)

San Diego Free Press Has Suspended Publication as of Dec. 14, 2018

Let it be known that Frank Gormlie, Patty Jones, Doug Porter, Annie Lane, Brent Beltrán, Anna Daniels, and Rich Kacmar did something necessary and beautiful together for 6 1/2 years. Together, we advanced the cause of journalism by advancing the cause of justice. It has been a helluva ride. "Sometimes a great notion..." (Click here for more details)
